11A – Idea Napkin No. 1 1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life? Hi! My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Fullwood. I am an Army military spouse and stationed at Landstuhl, Germany. I currently attend my dream school, the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business, where I am pursuing my Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration. I’m told that I have a talent for party planning, interior decorating and organization. I have a huge caring heart that can be both a pro and con as I’ve discovered throughout time. I love traveling and I thank my husband every day for serving our country, the United States of America, and providing us the experiences that so many people never have an opportunity to pursue. I had my children at a very young age and for the last 19 years, I’ve followed my h...

10A - Elevator Pitch No. 1

Hook: How long would you go without changing your underwear? A day? 2 Days? A week? When are they DIRTY? This predicament is what 22 million Americans that have Sleep Apnea face when deciding how often to clean their CPAP masks. And that 22 Million are just Americans! Problem: CPAP users sleep with a mask on their face every single night. The masks collect oils, dirt and germs that if not cleaned properly can lead to respiratory issues, skin breakouts or other health issues. The problem CPAP users currently have is that cleaning the masks and hoses are a nuisance. It takes time to soak them in vinegar and then they must repeatedly rinse the vinegar out. They are directed by their Physicians and Medical Supply companies to do this inconvenient process at least once a week. Currently the only remedy on the market for this issue is a machine that is very expensive, and it only disinfects the masks and hoses. It does not remove the oils or built up dirt from the mask. Solution: I hav...

8A - Solving the Problem

8A – Solving the Problem My product and or service involves creating a way for Sleep Apnea patients to save time and the stress of cleaning and washing their CPAP masks (and maybe hoses). There are devices that will sanitize the masks, but they do not actually clean the mask. Thus, the oils and dirt remain, just germ free. There are two ways that I feel I could approach this: 1) Invent a product to sell, that is safe for the masks and can be used in a washing machine without an agitator. 2) Approach this as a service. Go to people’s houses, Doctor’s offices, retirement homes, nursing homes, hospitals ect. and maybe have a mobile cleaning van. I could stop by a different neighborhood or facility each day. This thought seems easier, and as Dr. Pryor says: Simple, Fast and Ugly? The idea that it’s something I could do NOW. I could also maximize my product service mix by offering maybe masks for sale in my van or extra hoses. – This would require being able to accept prescr...

6A - Identifying Opportunities in Economic and Regulatory Trends

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends Economic Trends: 1) America Is Declining in Global Economic Power A) Source: https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666 B) I believe that an opportunity exists because Americans want to be a strong country and always be ahead of their global competitors. Other countries want to be like the United States and ultimately surpass the role of being the leader. China has pulled ahead of the U.S. in economic growth and has spread to Africa. Americans must learn to work with other countries and not continue to alienate itself or it will continue to be left behind. C) The prototypical customer would be Americans who work in large companies that have the assets to branch out overseas and take domain. D) I think this opportunity is relatively difficult to exploit, but not impossible. One would have to study what opportunities are available in countries such as Africa and pursue them...
